Go easy:
growth comes incrementally
paso a paso
step by baby step
we learn
take two steps forward
one step back
repeat the same mistakes
begin again.

Tread lightly,
not on anybody’s toes:
the Ninja’s weapon is silence
and stealth.
Stalk your prey wisely
eyes fixed on the goal, knowing
a dream once realised
is life’s true wealth.

Grow wiser
into your true human form, your home:
don’t shun the changes
of expanding months
and years.
Seize every opportunity experience
affords
as life’s great prize, though sometimes
won with tears.

Leave proudly
at the closing of your years
as time runs down the curtain of your life.
Look back on all the wonders you have wrought:
time and experience, daughters and sons
your legacy
will carry on in them
more love than grief.
