Cuticle hearts shine behind your tears
Lanterns on a fog-shrouded moor
Twelve bullfrogs under the stile
Regurgitate the symphony of their childhood.

The stars drip low on static
A dew-frosted peach offers itself
Leave crimson black lipstick stains on the high curve
Eat only half the moon.

Edge’s blur into the horizon
Walking the galactic ridges of your breasts
Feet dampened by silver pools
You lose shape to shimmer.

Pomegranate particles chime at your ears
The book of love turns a yellowed page of its own
Accord. Creamy paper. Blank. Ready to fade in the sun.

Moth drawn to beeswax smoke
Gold-dipped wings pull you down gently
Twelve bullfrogs under the stile
Regurgitate the symphony of their childhood.

I read this poem and it is impossible for me to pick a stanza I enjoy more. The imagery is rich with roaming thoughts and emotion hidden barely by a shadow. Receiving glimpses of the poets heart. A poem one can become immersed in as you begin to hear the bullfrogs and I can smell the yellowed paper. Beautifully written piece of poetry. Joni
