“Winter Wonderland Love” by Cindy Georgakas

Winter chills of love,
my warm heart beating,
stops.

Love lost,
scars protect,
Kindling stokes fires.

I read through the empty lines.
Verses, stand alone,
only for the taking.

Flesh torn open
and exposed,
nobody wins.

This languished love
isn’t for the faint of heart,
nor for those who believe in fairytales.

Step inside this wonderland,
where darkness is a gifted friend.
The gate keeper of your soul is you.

No trespasser’s allowed,
protect your precious home.
My warm heart starts beating,
once again.

  12. Doug says:

Good that you can chill in the heat. Chill on the skin triggers a memory of a lost embrace that once made the heart race. But while the body heat is gone, the darkness calls for dreams, the fireplace warms in the refuge of contemplation. It’s cool, this hot stuff. The dream maker, a gifted friend, writes the play. The play’s the thing.

    1. Ahhh yes Doug, your insights are always well appreciated and spot on my friend. Thank you so much for being here where dreams are warmed in the “refuge of contemplation” as you so well say. Cool, warm hot, we write the script is exactly as you say! 💞
