I walk toward the moon
lilac and mint waft through the night
a fragrance
bruising my heart, and
hard to define
it’s you
you
that spilled out of the seeds last Autumn
and, you
spilling out of the night
now
confusion, a mist
terrifying
and, terribly satisfying
I recede, realizing
it’s the shape, texture, and tone of your mind
I’ve missed all this time

A haunting piece, Jeff. We often reminisce in bits and pieces. Memories are layered and carry so many emotions. Love the mint and lilac. 🙂

Another lovely piece of writing Jeff. I liked that the thing you missed the most was her mind (the conversations, the appreciating the sharing of what really makes up what we are) not the flesh but the part that is remembered as a great friend. Nicely done, big hugs Jeff, Joni
