Gumdrops and Glitter

the sea rises over my heart
while I lean into love
like a fairytale, made up of gumdrops
and glitter, which never stops
enticing
the senses
even with a skewed perspective
created from the past
when flowers didn’t bloom, rather
they died fast
entering my heart in one moment
I remember the day
a swoon came to
teaching me more about the love I have for you
like the dew
upon the petals that finally grew
that’s when
I knew
