Eighteen Long Years

by BENJAMIN NAMBU
Website (greatbenji.business.blog)

Finally back to her old town

She roamed the streets like a visible ghost

That had lost her power to scare

Stranger

Even to the old familiar sun

That masked its inquisitiveness in its harsh rays

On her face

She was reliving yesteryears in her mind

With feet planted in today

Germinating into an odd picture

To an old town that had moved on

Familiar places with unfamiliar faces

Rain clouds were gathering

As if to wash her

And her old memories

Away
