Cast your long light
over the midnight waters of the Med
a message in a bottle
light – like words I thought, but left unsaid.
Bring me home
if I had wings, I’d fly to you
but I’ve no wings
only a heart forever true.
The distance isn’t great
and light travels so quickly:
why can’t we, if we are beings made of light?
Sea-tossed we’re sickly
but I could fly the distance in two hours
and, so united, be forever yours.
