The wheels of the night train
grinding your lower lip
and
the flesh of people around
has a unique scent- yours!
Your profile,
sketched by alcohol
is smiling
so alike to the Cheshire Cat!
You shall not give yourself to anyone! You utter
Life is not a one way story, I cry to the night
resplendent under accacia chandeliers…
Under the smile of the Cheshire Cat
the trees have stopped dancing with the wind
and the lake remains like your soul- untouched!

Virginia this is magically beautiful. We can follow each word and picture ourselves there. Big hugs 🤗 Joni

I love this so much. I want to read it again and again. As much as I love it, I have to laugh a little – not at you but at something that happened yesterday. I wore a lovely impressionist style mask featuring The Beatles and a twenty-something woman remarked that it was beautiful and asked if it was painted by Van Gogh. I’d like to think she meant ‘inspired by’ but judging by the blank look on face when I told her that would be extremely difficult, I don’t think she got the message. It is a lovely mask, though, and a wonderful poem! 🌟
