until the sun
by Jeff Flesch, Monthly Contributor

I stand in line to buy lemons and limes
while reminiscing on the
times
enthralled and divined
while feelings keep coming up
I’ve tried to stop.
yet
they keep marching towards the top
life is like that
sometimes
we walk and talk and make love until the sun comes up
while basking in the glory of the known
and unknown
and everything in between the things we’ve been
shown

Oh my word, this is amazing with one stroke of the pen the poet adresses a myriad of faces, painted in different times and places.
It speaks to each one of us, we’ve done this, some us are still standing in line to buy.
Gorgeous Jeff ♥♥
Standing on the shoreline
Doing all of that
Feeling
The ebb and tide of life
Waiting to buy the lemon and the lime…

This is such a stunning exquisite poetic description of being here fully alive on this planet, truly awake to the beauty of the experience- oscillating between the unknown & known, chosen & unchosen, loved & unloved, and yet so fully graciously accepted and appreciated.

Isn’t this life just full of these paradoxes, which are and are not. Ahhh, it’s so glorious to share in this understanding with you, Pragalbha. Thank you so much for this gorgeous reflection. Honored.

The imagery in that first stanza is so vivid. I can smell those lemons and limes, and I can picture myself standing in line at the check-out as old memories flood my mind. «Life is like that sometimes,» indeed. What a cool image, and the rest of the poem flows effortlessly. Well done, good sir. 🙂
