Staring at this empty slate
Want to scribble my current state
But heart isn’t ready
Mind is talking crazy
Simply can’t breathe
And on top, am about to scream
Want to break that screen
Why do I feel so aggressive?
Or am I simply just possessive?
But I know am worked up & explosive

This noise in my head
Want me to seriously shed
The ray of blood shade
But it ain’t make no sense
So I try to take a nap
But thoughts make me react
The role I then enact
The throbbing in my chest
As if I’m on this unending chase
Don’t know where it would take
I feel my life is on stake
My whole body starts to shake
Grass is full of deadly snakes

But is it all in my head?
My mind is playing brain dead
So I take the knife in my hand
To cut away this deep pain
In hope to truly retain
The things I lost back then
But what would I really gain?
It’s not like I had the holy grail
Would I still give a damn?
To build that shattered old dam

It’s not really a simple game
When you ain’t snipers aim
You’ve been living in shallow fame
The stories you surely did tell
I’ll erase it one day from your slate
You see our talents are innate
But I don’t believe in checkmate
It’s not the way I want to relate
It all makes me question & think
While my eyes stop to blink
What’s the point of bonds & links?
Am I imprisoned in me with those chains?
Why my world seems to shrink?

But then I see a little lively bird
Flying high in clear sky with no dirt
It lives in now & with no hurt
The pain disappears with a single sigh
The deeper calling to fly high
The eyes deep ocean in true joy
The feeling is beautiful & so divine
The sun has been shining very bright
I think I’ve got it somewhat right
The pure moment without that knife
The pieces of puzzle, I mean this life
The mountains, I feel I can climb
You see, this ain’t just another rhyme
It’s a story of my inner fight
But now it’s time to clean my slate
And go to bed before it gets too late

@Navin Manik

In late 2017, Navin felt this need to write a poem as he had an opening in him. Something had changed deep down, where Navin came in contact with the very being. Self-realization, experiences, raw emotions & some other dimensions is what Navin shares through his poetic creations. Poetry is Navin’s passion, which has this great therapeutic effect on him as well. To Navin, darkness & light are equally important, just like the significance of yin & yang, black & white, rough & fine and the unknown & the unknown. Navin lives in Denmark.

  4. What a jovial poem! The rhyme scheme is more than a dime for a team. Surely, I enjoyed reading this writing. And I wanna say, keep writing this way every day, putting smiles on our faces this way in all places. Congrats. 👏🤗

  5. this ain’t just another rhyme – this I agree with, for only you have this talent with rhyming words that seem to have a beat that matches my heartbeat, and the words trickle down to the core in resonance of how they feel. It was an exquisite journey within to read through your poem and such brightness and lightness after arriving on the other side. Gentle souls do not enjoy the feeling of this passionate anger that arises often until they find their way to the Truth that is hidden underneath. For in that they are courageous to face this battle with humble surrender to what is – the brilliance shines without a choice from there. The goal, in the end, is a good night’s sleep 🙂

Have you ever read a comment with eyes wide open & they’re shining like a lamp plus the eyebrows are almost touching the sky?…imagine the scene…I’m living it this moment…Oh wow, how beautiful…your words…I’m deeply touched…»humble surrender to what it is»…that’s the thing about you…that thing is your wisdom…the inner intelligence…my reply might not be long coz I’m speechless…it’s beautiful to sit in this energy…thank you so very much for blessing me with your shiny lines, Pragalbha 💫

      1. And have you heard of a whole banana stuck sideways – that’s how I am smiling :))))) Oh the joy of resonance and being received for my understanding is such a gift, a privilege I get to enjoy. This is beautiful energy indeed, I am sitting in silence with you, with gratitude, immensely.

  6. Navin. I am always amazed by your transparent honesty, your objective view, your surround sound rhyme in tune. You capture both roles of your both sides…
of your inside out and your questioning doubt..that you can make it through…but you do…Like a camera camming in from the ceiling, you offer yourself another view. it’s not all knives and cut it out, there’s hope and you are the first to remind yourself of that…In your darkest poems…somehow and from somewhere, you yourself shine the light..
So self aware even in your darkest nights.. Brilliantly laid down…no holds barred..just like it is…just like you are. Congratulations!

I’m glad you’re able to see the different aspects from transparency to my objective view to surround sound rhyme in tune…I love the way you’ve described it…the real «fight» is in surrendering to the moment than to keep fighting the moment…seeing in pitch dark is quite similar to seeing in strong light…we just need to have the right pair of shades for both the occasions (IR / UV senses)…Thank you very much for honoring me with your beautiful words & for your wishes, dear Karima…I’m deeply touched ✨

That non stop writing of the thoughts can be felt from this piece. The fight feels at ease when the pen takes responsibility. Carved beautifully.
