Come Spring

by Holly Rene Hunter, Monthly Contributor

On a grassy knoll behind a mock castle
beneath Aristophanes clouds of adventure
surrounded by harems of wood sprites
scattering seeds among hearts of lovers
Under the cover of smokey pines
breathing pungent amber resign
there in the unruffled pools of your eyes
I will die just a little.
